World Bank tribunal rejects Venezuela bid to annul ConocoPhillips award

HOUSTON, Jan 23 (Reuters) - A World Bank arbitration tribunal has rejected Venezuela's request to annul an arbitration award that granted $8.37 billion to U.S. oil producer ConocoPhillips Co (COP.N) over the expropriation of its assets in the South American country.

The decision by the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), which was seen by Reuters on Thursday, was communicated to the parties involved in the case earlier this week, according to ICSID's website.
