US President Donald Trump Announces 25% Tariffs on Steel, Aluminum Imports

Washington, DC - President Trump announced on Sunday that he will implement a 25% tariff on all steel and aluminum imports into the United States, beginning Monday. The move represents a significant escalation in his administration's trade policy.

During a press conference aboard Air Force One, Trump also indicated that he will announce reciprocal tariffs on Tuesday or Wednesday, which are expected to take effect swiftly.

Trump imposed tariffs of 25% on steel and 10% on aluminum during his first term. However, he subsequently granted duty-free quotas to several trading partners, including Canada, Mexico, the European Union, and the United Kingdom.
