Stellantis Lawsuit Against Safety Equipment Makers Dismissed

Stellantis' lawsuit against Autoliv and ZF/TRW, seeking 771 million euros ($807.62 million) in damages, was dismissed by a London tribunal. The automaker alleged that the suppliers charged inflated prices for seatbelts, airbags, and steering wheels.

Autoliv and ZF/TRW were previously found to have participated in cartels by the European Commission, leading to fines totaling 368.3 million euros in 2019. However, the suppliers argued that the investigation did not determine that Stellantis was affected by cartel activity.

The Competition Appeal Tribunal agreed, ruling that Stellantis "failed to show that any cartel activity directed against the Stellantis groups resulted in an overcharge at all or of the size claimed."
