In response to the formation of Tropical Cyclone Sean off the coast of Western Australia's iron-ore rich Pilbara region, the Pilbara Ports Authority has closed the following ports late Saturday:

* Ashburton
* Varanus Island
* Cape Preston West

* Storm tide between Port Hedland and Exmouth
