Sequoia Capital's Evergreen Fund Reaches $19.6 Billion

According to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing, Sequoia Capital's evergreen fund has reached $19.6 billion. This signifies the firm's continued growth amid the current venture capital funding slowdown.

The fund includes new capital commitments, shares of publicly traded companies previously backed by Sequoia, and proceeds from mergers and acquisitions. In 2021, Sequoia restructured, creating the Sequoia Capital Fund, which can invest in publicly traded stocks and other assets.

Unlike traditional venture funds with a limited lifespan, the Sequoia Capital Fund is evergreen, holding its assets indefinitely. Since its launch in early 2023, the fund has grown from $13.6 billion.

Sequoia continues to manage sub-funds that contribute to the core fund. As per a separate January filing, the firm's assets under management have reached $56 billion, making it one of the leading venture capital firms globally.
