Roblox Falls Short of Analyst Estimates with Q4 Daily Active Users

Roblox Corp., a prominent video-game platform, reported lower-than-expected daily active users (DAUs) for the fourth quarter ended December 31.

DAUs reached 85.3 million, falling below Wall Street projections of 88.4 million. Premarket trading saw shares decline by up to 30%.

The San Mateo, California-based company's bookings, an indicator of sales, reached $1.36 billion, slightly below the $1.37 billion forecast.

Roblox, which allows third-party developers to create games in exchange for a revenue share, has experienced significant growth in recent years. This week, its most popular game was acquired from an anonymous developer.

However, Roblox has faced criticism for insufficient measures to prevent predators from engaging with young players online. Last year, the company implemented new policies, including restricting children under 13 from accessing games solely designed for socialization.

Roblox projects full-year bookings between $5.2 billion and $5.3 billion for 2025. (Correction: 2025 projected bookings figures updated)
