Kennametal Reports Q2 Earnings, Meets Expectations

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Kennametal Inc. (KMT) reported fiscal second-quarter earnings of $17.9 million on Wednesday. On a per-share basis, the Pittsburgh-based company earned 23 cents, in line with analysts' consensus.

Adjusted for restructuring costs and pretax expenses, earnings came in at 25 cents per share, also meeting expectations.

Revenue for the quarter was $482.1 million, slightly below the $483.7 million analysts had forecast.

Looking ahead, Kennametal projects per-share earnings of 20-30 cents and revenue of $480-500 million in the current quarter ending in March.

For the full year, the company expects earnings per share of $1.05-$1.30 and revenue of $1.95-$2.00 billion.
