JPMorgan Faces Criticism over DEI Practices, Regulatory Filing Reveals

JPMorgan Chase anticipates facing scrutiny regarding its business practices, including diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, as per its regulatory filing on Friday.

"JPMorgan Chase has been and expects to continue to face criticism from activists, politicians, and the general public regarding... DEI initiatives," the filing stated.

In contrast to the previous year's six mentions, the bank's latest annual filing makes only one reference to DEI. Conservative entities have intensified their pressure on major corporations to reduce DEI initiatives focused on promoting racial and ethnic representation in the workplace.

Earlier this week, Goldman Sachs announced the termination of a DEI agreement connected to its initial public offering business. Other prominent American corporations, such as Apple and Meta Platforms, have adjusted or considered altering their DEI policies following President Donald Trump's executive order restricting such programs at federal and private levels.
