Ericsson Reports Revenue and Profit Growth in Q4

Swedish telecom equipment manufacturer Ericsson reported a rise in fourth-quarter revenue and adjusted operating profit. Net sales increased 1% to SEK 72.9 billion ($6.66 billion), exceeding analyst estimates of SEK 72.5 billion.

North America emerged as a key driver of growth, with sales surging 54%. "We observe further indications of overall RAN market stabilization, supported by North American growth, resulting in a return to Networks sales expansion in Q4," stated CEO Borje Ekholm.

However, sales in Asia experienced a double-digit decline, particularly in India, where demand waned after a rapid growth period in 2023.

Operating profit excluding restructuring costs and impairments amounted to SEK 10.2 billion, compared to SEK 8.2 billion in the previous year. This aligns with the mean forecast of SEK 10.3 billion in an LSEG analyst poll.

Ericsson announced a dividend of SEK 2.85 per share for 2024, a rise from SEK 2.70 in 2023.
