Justice Department Seeks Dismissal of Adams Corruption Case

Federal prosecutors have requested that a Manhattan court dismiss the corruption case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams. The move follows an order from Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove instructing the city's top prosecutor, Danielle Sassoon, to drop the charges.

Sassoon and other Justice Department officials who were assigned to handle the case resigned rather than carry out the order. In a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi, Sassoon expressed concerns that the decision to dismiss the case was made in exchange for Adams' support of President Trump's immigration policies.

US District Judge Dale Ho is now considering the Justice Department's motion to dismiss the case. Sassoon believes that Ho will thoroughly investigate the department's handling of the matter and may deny the motion as improper.
