BestChange Remains Unsure About Roskomnadzor Ban, Seeks Central Bank Assistance

BestChange, a cryptocurrency exchange platform, has expressed uncertainty over the recent website blockage imposed by Russia's communications regulator, Roskomnadzor. While the platform is currently communicating with the central bank to resolve the issue, the specific reason for the ban remains unknown.

"bestchange.ru has been restricted in Russia by Roskomnadzor," the platform stated. "Unfortunately, we cannot determine the exact reason for this action."

Roskomnadzor's website confirms the block on bestchange.ru, citing legal violations in the financial sphere as the justification. However, the regulator has not yet responded to comment requests.

BestChange speculates that the ban may stem from new cryptocurrency regulations or potential issues with entities utilizing its services.

Despite the ban, Russia has recently legalized cryptocurrency mining, implementing taxes that could generate up to 2 billion USD annually. However, crypto mining has been restricted in certain Siberian regions to mitigate power shortages.

To circumvent payment delays caused by Western sanctions, Russia has permitted businesses to use cryptocurrencies in international trade. However, a trial period for this authorization is yet to commence.
