Wells Fargo Co-CEO of CIB, Jon Weiss, to Retire

Wells Fargo has announced the retirement of Jon Weiss, its co-CEO of corporate and investment banking (CIB). Weiss, who has been with Wells Fargo for over two decades, will step down effective immediately.

Weiss has held various leadership roles at Wells Fargo during his tenure. Since assuming leadership of CIB in early 2020, he has overseen a 40% increase in CIB net income, according to Wells Fargo CEO Charlie Scharf.

Fernando Rivas, who has been co-leading CIB with Weiss, will now become the sole head of the business unit.

Weiss' formal retirement will take effect on June 1.
