Volkswagen in Talks with Chinese Partners for Potential Investments in German Plants

Volkswagen CEO Oliver Blume has confirmed ongoing discussions with the company's Chinese partners regarding potential investments in manufacturing facilities in Germany. The revelation emerged following reports that Chinese investors expressed interest in acquiring German factories.

"When companies invest in Europe, it's a positive development," Blume remarked at a conference hosted by German publication Welt. "We have strong partnerships in China, and discussions have taken place. However, no concrete decisions have been made."

Volkswagen maintains joint ventures with three Chinese companies: SAIC, FAW, and JAC. It also holds a stake in Chinese electric vehicle startup Xpeng. None of these partners currently have production capabilities in Europe.
