Volkswagen Considers US Production for Audi and Porsche to Avoid Tariffs

German automaker Volkswagen is contemplating establishing production facilities in the United States for its luxury brands Audi and Porsche, according to Handelsblatt. This move is driven by concerns over potential tariffs threatened by President Donald Trump.

Unnamed sources familiar with the company's deliberations informed Handelsblatt that Audi and Porsche are particularly vulnerable to any new US trade barriers. Unlike the core Volkswagen brand, they currently lack production facilities in the US.

Volkswagen has yet to officially comment on the report.
