UnitedHealth Appoints Tim Noel as UnitedHealthcare CEO

UnitedHealth Group (UNH) has announced the appointment of Tim Noel as the new CEO of its health insurance division, UnitedHealthcare.

Noel has held various leadership roles at UnitedHealth for nearly two decades, most recently serving as the CEO of UnitedHealthcare Medicare & Retirement.

In his new role, Noel will lead the $298 billion revenue unit, which is United's largest business segment. The company recently fell short of earnings estimates and reported increased medical costs due to an aging population and post-pandemic usage surge.

UnitedHealth also implemented AI technology to process claims, which has led to some patient frustrations. Despite these challenges, the company reported $400 billion in full-year revenue for 2024, an 8% increase year-over-year.
