Stellantis Invests in US Manufacturing in Response to Trump Administration

Stellantis (STLA) is making significant moves in the US following meetings between Chairman John Elkann and President Trump.

In a letter to employees, Stellantis North America COO Antonio Filosa emphasized the company's commitment to investing in US-made products.

Specific actions include:

* Building a new midsize pickup truck at the Belvidere, Ill., assembly plant, creating 1,500 UAW member jobs.
* Building the next-generation Dodge Durango SUV at the Detroit Assembly Complex, dispelling rumors of production moving to Canada.
* Investing at the Toledo assembly plant for improved Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator features.
* Expanding tooling operations at Toledo for in-house critical component manufacturing.
* Investing in a new four-cylinder engine at the Kokomo, Ind., plant.

These investments come in response to Trump's proposed tariffs on products from Mexico and Canada, where Stellantis currently manufactures some of its vehicles.

Stellantis will provide further details during its Feb. 26 full-year earnings report.
