Spotify Considers "Music Pro" Tier with Enhanced Features and Concert Access

Spotify is reportedly exploring a new music streaming tier called "Music Pro" that would charge a premium over its existing subscriptions. According to sources cited by Bloomberg News, the service will offer higher-quality audio, remixing tools, and access to concert tickets.

The company is said to be developing the details of the new tier, which may be rolled out later this year. Pricing will vary by region, with lower costs in developing markets. A Spotify spokesperson declined to confirm the speculation but acknowledged the company's interest in offering personalized features.

The "Music Pro" tier is expected to utilize artificial intelligence for mixing, allowing subscribers to create custom playlists with songs from multiple artists. Preliminary discussions have reportedly been held with major promoters and ticket sellers for partnership opportunities.

In the US, Spotify's largest market, the individual subscription tier currently costs $11.99 per month, while the family plan for up to six members is priced at $19.99. The company recently secured multi-year agreements with Warner Music Group and Universal Music Group.

Spotify CEO Daniel Ek has previously hinted at introducing a premium tier for "superfans of music." The Swedish streaming service forecasts approximately 678 million monthly active users for the first quarter of the year, aligning with market estimates.
