Chinese manufacturer Sany Heavy Industry is preparing for a Hong Kong listing that could net the company up to $1.5 billion, according to sources familiar with the matter. The sources, who requested anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the information, declined to comment further.

The proposed listing would follow a series of recent major IPOs in Hong Kong, including the $5.4 billion initial public offering by Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba.
