Salesforce and Microsoft Clash Over AI Leadership at Davos

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff criticized Microsoft's AI tools, claiming that Copilot is "just a repackaged ChatGPT." Benioff's comments follow Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella's recent remarks questioning the value of business applications in the age of AI agents.

Salesforce's Agentforce AI bots compete with Microsoft's Copilot for workplace dominance. Salesforce closed 200 Agentforce deals in Q3, including with FedEx, IBM, and Accenture.

Benioff reported strong consumption of Agentforce, with the company earning $2 per conversation. The Street has responded positively to Salesforce's AI strategy, driving up its stock price by over 25%.

However, some analysts remain skeptical. John DiFucci of Guggenheim downgraded Salesforce to Sell, citing concerns about monetizing Agentforce and the company's lack of advantage in providing AI solutions requiring dynamic data.

Saudi Arabia sells €1.5 billion in debut green euro bond

Saudi Arabia plans to sell its first green euro bond worth €1.5 billion ($1.58 billion) to fund its Vision 2030 economic transformation plan, after receiving bids worth €7.25 billion. The green bond, with a seven-year tenure, will be priced at 115 basis points over the benchmark, while a conventional 12-year bond will be priced at 145 basis points over mid-swaps.
