Pernod Ricard Considers Sale of Champagne Brand G.H. Mumm

French spirits behemoth Pernod Ricard reportedly contemplates the sale of its esteemed champagne label, G.H. Mumm. This strategic move aligns with the company's focus on elevating its portfolio to the premium segment.

In collaboration with investment banking firm Rothschild & Co., Pernod Ricard is exploring potential buyers for the brand. Industry sources indicate that the divestiture could garner interest from spirits and beverage conglomerates.

According to one source, G.H. Mumm is valued at a minimum of three times its annual revenue of €200 million ($207 million). However, Pernod Ricard has exercised caution when divesting assets, and a sale may not materialize.

The sources requested anonymity, as the matter remains confidential. Pernod Ricard acknowledged its ongoing evaluation of strategic opportunities, including divestments and streamlining of businesses. The company emphasized its commitment to value creation for stakeholders.

No conclusive decision has been made regarding the sale of G.H. Mumm. Rothschild, the investment bank involved, declined to comment on the matter.
