Nigerian Government Files $81.5 Billion Lawsuit Against Binance

Nigeria has initiated legal action against Binance, a major cryptocurrency exchange, demanding $79.5 billion in compensation for economic losses allegedly incurred due to Binance's operations within the country. Additionally, the lawsuit seeks the payment of $2 billion in back taxes for a two-year period.

According to court documents obtained by Reuters, the Nigerian government accuses Binance of engaging in activities that have contributed to tax evasion, money laundering, and other financial crimes. The government has called on Binance to halt operations within Nigeria and repatriate its profits to the country.

Binance has yet to issue an official response to the lawsuit at the time of publication.
