The Mexican Peso Declines as Trump Announces Tariffs on Colombia

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - The Mexican peso weakened against the U.S. dollar in international trade following President Donald Trump's announcement of tariffs on Colombia. This has reignited concerns regarding his trade policies.

The peso, a highly liquid currency worldwide, reached a rate of 20.4630 units per dollar, marking a 1% decline against the London Stock Exchange Group's reference price on Friday.

The tariffs imposed on Colombia are part of a string of measures introduced by the U.S. president in response to Bogota's refusal to accept two military planes carrying deported migrants.
