JPMorgan Anticipates Criticism over DEI Practices

JPMorgan Chase acknowledges the likelihood of criticism for its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, as stated in its regulatory filing released on Friday. The bank acknowledges that parties including activists, politicians, and members of the public may challenge its business practices or stance on matters related to DEI.

Notably, JPMorgan's recent annual filing mentions DEI only once, a significant decrease from the six mentions in the previous year's report. This reflects the increasing pressure from conservative groups on major corporations to reduce DEI policies focused on workplace diversity.

Other prominent US companies have also faced scrutiny regarding their DEI policies. Goldman Sachs recently ended a DEI pledge linked to its investment banking operations, while Apple and Meta Platforms have reevaluated their DEI programs following an executive order by former President Donald Trump aiming to curb such initiatives in the public and private sectors.
