JetBlue Airways Reports Fourth-Quarter Loss, Beats Estimates

JetBlue Airways Corp. (JBLU) reported a fourth-quarter loss of $44 million on Tuesday. The Long Island City, New York-based airline posted a loss per share of 13 cents. Adjusted for pretax gains, the loss per share was 21 cents.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. Analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research had estimated a loss per share of 30 cents. The airline generated revenue of $2.28 billion in the quarter, also surpassing estimates. Analysts had projected revenue of $2.26 billion.

For the full year, JetBlue reported a loss of $795 million, or $2.30 per share. Revenue totaled $9.28 billion.
