Honda to Launch Affordable EV in North America by 2026

Honda Motor is gearing up to introduce a low-cost electric vehicle (EV) in North America by 2026, according to the Nikkei newspaper. Priced below $30,000, the new model aims to boost Honda's presence in the competitive battery-powered car market.

The automaker plans to domestically produce the affordable EV as part of its upcoming "Honda 0 Series" EV lineup. The series is set to debut in North America before expanding globally.

Despite its prominence as Japan's second-largest automaker, Honda has been lagging behind rivals in the EV market. The company aspires to transition its entire new car sales to battery-powered and fuel-cell vehicles by 2040.
