Google Ends Diversity Hiring Goals, Reviews DEI Initiatives

Alphabet's Google is reportedly eliminating its hiring targets for historically underrepresented groups and reassessing its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs.

This move aligns with a trend among US companies scaling back DEI initiatives, following a period of heightened emphasis on inclusivity after the 2020 protests against police brutality towards Black Americans.

Other tech giants, including Meta Platforms and Amazon, have also recently announced reductions in their DEI programs. Google, however, has not yet publicly commented on the reported changes.
