Global Airlines Explore Investments in Brazilian Carrier Gol

According to Valor Economico, global airlines are in discussions to invest in Brazilian carrier Gol, which is currently undergoing Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings in the United States.

Sources indicate that companies involved in the talks include U.S. carriers United Airlines and American Airlines, as well as European giants Air France-KLM, International Airlines Group, and Lufthansa Group.

Gol, which recently announced plans to explore a merger with local competitor Azul, has been in bankruptcy proceedings since early 2024. Valor Economico reports that the potential investments would be part of Gol's exit strategy from Chapter 11.

Gol declined to comment on the discussions, while United Airlines, American Airlines, International Airlines Group, Lufthansa, and Air France-KLM have yet to respond to requests for comment.
