First Majestic Silver Reports Q4 Loss, Revenue Decline

Vancouver-based silver miner First Majestic Silver Corp. (AG) reported a fourth-quarter loss of $13.5 million, marking a significant reversal from the profit reported in the same period a year ago. Earnings per share stood at a loss of 4 cents, while adjusted earnings reached 3 cents per share.

Revenue for the quarter totaled $172.3 million. For the full year, the company reported a narrower loss of $101.9 million, or 34 cents per share, on revenue of $560.6 million.

First Majestic shares have experienced a 2% decline since the beginning of the year but have risen 19% over the past 12 months.
