Coeur Mining Reports Q4 Profit, Shares Surge

CHICAGO (AP) - Coeur Mining Inc. (CDE) reported a net income of $37.9 million for the fourth quarter, reversing a loss in the same period last year. On a per-share basis, the Chicago-based company earned 8 cents. Excluding non-recurring costs, earnings stood at 11 cents per share.

Revenue for the quarter reached $305.4 million.

For the full year, Coeur Mining reported a net income of $58.9 million, or 15 cents per share, a significant improvement from the previous year. Revenue for the period was $1.05 billion.

Coeur Mining shares have experienced a significant rise since the start of the year, climbing 11%. As of Wednesday's closing, the shares were trading at $6.35, more than doubling in value over the past 12 months.
