The Trump administration announced a review to determine if $4 billion awarded to California's High-Speed Rail project should be rescinded.

In 2008, voters approved $10 billion for the project, but its cost has since skyrocketed. President Donald Trump has been outspoken in criticizing the project.

Under President Joe Biden, the Transportation Department allocated over $3 billion to the project. Initially estimated at around $40 billion, the project's cost has now increased to a range of $89 billion to $128 billion.
