American Electric Power Reports Q4 Earnings in Line with Expectations
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 16, 2023 — American Electric Power Co. (AEP) today announced fourth-quarter 2022 earnings of $664.1 million, or $1.25 per share. Adjusted earnings per share were $1.24.
The results met analysts' expectations, with the consensus estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research also being $1.24 per share.
Revenue for the quarter totaled $4.7 billion, slightly below the $5.08 billion analysts had forecast.
For the full year 2022, AEP reported net income of $2.97 billion, or $5.60 per share, on revenue of $19.72 billion.
Looking ahead, AEP expects full-year 2023 earnings in the range of $5.75 to $5.95 per share.
Since the start of 2023, AEP shares have risen 11%, while the S&P 500 index has climbed 27%. Over the past 12 months, the stock has gained 32%.
