Alpha and Omega Semiconductor Reports Q2 Loss

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - Alpha and Omega Semiconductor Ltd. (AOSL) announced a loss of $6.6 million in its fiscal second quarter. The loss equates to 23 cents per share. After adjusting for one-time gains and costs, earnings were 9 cents per share.

The chipmaker reported revenue of $173.2 million for the quarter. For the current quarter ending in March, Alpha and Omega anticipates revenue between $148 million and $168 million.

Since the start of the year, AOSL shares have risen by 17%. In Wednesday's final trading hours, shares reached $43.33, representing a 66% increase over the past 12 months.
